The Indonesian electronic newspaper, Ti Newss, confirmed that the holy land of Karbala witnessed a “dark tragedy in Islamic history.”
The newspaper quoted the famous researcher and academic Dr. Aseeb Darmawan saying in the seventh part of his series of articles entitled \u201cFaith in the Hereafter,\u201d that \u201cMuslim historians agreed that the battle of Karbala was a dark tragedy in Islamic history for at least three reasons, one of which was that it was the culmination of the disputes that erupted over the leadership of the nation of Islam after the testimony of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, to later result in the martyrdom of his beloved grandson, Imam Hussein bin Ali, peace be upon him, on the land of Karbala in the year 61 AH, 680 AD.\u201d
The article continued, “The second reason is that the Karbala tragedy resulted in what he called (another round) of subsequent political differences framed by sectarian frameworks,” adding that “the third reason is that this tragedy, in turn, generated a series of catastrophes that are no less than tragic about the tragedy of Karbala itself.\u201d
At the conclusion of his article, the prominent Indonesian academic pointed out that “it is necessary to explain what happened on the land of Karbala fourteen centuries ago, and to put this discourse openly, as an attempt to prevent any wrong interpretation that might result in an open sectarian conflict in particular.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
