With the Taliban terrorist movement extending its influence on Afghanistan, violence against journalists escalated, as more than 30 cases of violence were recorded in two months.
Violence against journalists has escalated despite allegations of Taliban terrorist support for media activities, and there have been more than 30 cases of violence against journalists in the past two months, according to the Afghan Agency to Protect Journalists.
The Afghan National Union of Journalists recently stated that the Taliban terrorist group was responsible for 90% of the violence.
The media official of the National Union of Journalists, Masrour Lotfi, said in a press conference that of the 30 cases the union registered, 40% were beating journalists, 40% were verbal threats, and 20% were obstructing news coverage and detention of journalists.
