A new mosque and interfaith center is coming to State Street in Washington in the next two to three years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s something about this area. It\u2019s beautiful,\u201d said mosque president Zahra Abidi.<\/span><\/p>\n To get to know the town, Abidi and the Husayniah Islamic Society of Seattle hosted a potluck Sunday at the new site and invited local officials, faith leaders and neighbors.<\/span><\/p>\n Abidi said she wants the mosque and interfaith center to be for everyone in town, not just Muslims. It\u2019ll be a place where kids can hangout and do homework after school or where neighbors can get together to exchange ideas or discuss mutual problems.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAnyone can resonate with this,\u201d said guest Imam Rasoul Naghavi.<\/span><\/p>\n Masood Zaidi is one of the society\u2019s leaders.
