Shia Rights Watch International Organization, affiliated with the Imam Shirazi World Foundation in Washington, DC, discussed the recent events taking place in Afghanistan and the control of the Taliban terrorist group over some cities, through a webinar it held.
The webinar hosted two of the region’s top political analysts, Dr. Akram Gizabi, Secretary of the Hazara International Consultative Council, and Mr. Singhy Siring, Director of the Gilgit-Baltistan Institute for Studies.
The Executive Director of Shia Rights Watch, Mustafa Akhwand, expressed his concern about the expansion of the activities of educational centers for the Salafist group in the region, stressing the importance of addressing the ideological roots of Salafi and extremist groups in the region.
For his part, Dr. Akram Gizabi, Secretary of the Hazara International Consultative Council, stressed the response to the destructive role of some neighboring countries in protecting and sponsoring the forces of the Taliban movement, and pointed out that the Taliban will never undertake any reform process in its practices and work structure, but rather it will continue to practice violence and repression with other national and sectarian minorities.
At the conclusion of the symposium, Mr. Singhy Siring, Director of the Gilgit-Baltistan Institute for Studies, expressed his concern about the future of Shias and national minorities in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
