Social media users have condemned the incident and called for brining those behind it to justice.<\/p>\n
According to RT Arabic, the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs has also slammed the incident and vowed to pursue the issue and punish the perpetrators.<\/p>\n
In recent years, there have been numerous cases of disregard for the sanctity of the Quran in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n
They ranged from discarding Qurans in drainage systems to desecration of Quran by prison guards.<\/p>\n
In 2017, a large number of copies of the Holy Quran were founded discarded in the street drainage system in one of the district of Taif.<\/p>\n
In 2014, a Saudi citizen found torn copies of Islam\u2019s Holy Book in garbage cans again in the same city.<\/p>\n
In 2013, Quran copies were found in the sewage system in Taif.<\/p>\n
