According to al-Hayat daily, a statement released by the Rafedein Operation Commander said there will be patrolling in all of the main and sideline roads and army drones will also be used to ensure security.<\/h4>\n

As well as police and army, Popular Mobilization Forces known as Hashd al-Shaabi will also contribute to the security measures.<\/h4>\n

Arbaeen comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.<\/h4>\n

Each year, a huge crowd of Shias flock to Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, is located, to perform mourning rites.<\/h4>\n

In the past few years, around 20 million pilgrims from all over the world took part in the mourning ceremonies in the Iraqi holy city marking Arbaeen.<\/h4>\n
