{"id":5249,"date":"2017-12-28T17:16:22","date_gmt":"2017-12-28T17:16:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shiawaves.com\/english\/news\/atabat\/5249-200-memorizers-attend-quran-competition-for-women-in-iraq-photos\/"},"modified":"2017-12-28T17:16:22","modified_gmt":"2017-12-28T17:16:22","slug":"200-memorizers-attend-quran-competition-for-women-in-iraq-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shiawaves.com\/english\/news\/atabat\/5249-200-memorizers-attend-quran-competition-for-women-in-iraq-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"200 memorizers attend Quran Competition for women in Iraq+Photos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first edition of a national Quran competition for women in Iraq was organized by the custodianship of al-Abbas holy shrine.<\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<h4>\u00a0<\/h4>\n<h4>The first edition of a national Quran competition for women in Iraq was organized by the custodianship of al-Abbas holy shrine.<\/h4>\n<h4>Nearly 200 memorizers of the Holy Book from different governorates of the Arab country took part in the preliminary stage of the contest, according to Kafeel website.<\/h4>\n<h4>They competed in the categories of memorization of three, five, ten and twenty Juzes (parts) of the Quran.<\/h4>\n<h4>Fifty-three contenders made it to the final round, held in the holy city of Karbala for two days.<\/h4>\n<h4>The competition was aimed at spreading the Quranic culture, enhancing women\u2019s bond with the Book of God and promoting the role of Quran in society\u2019s everyday life.<\/h4>\n<h4>Winners of different categories were awarded at the closing ceremony earlier this week.<\/h4>\n<h4>Addressing the ceremony, Sayyid Ahmed Safi, the custodian of the holy shrine, hailed the Quranic program for women and stressed the need for encouraging Muslim women to memorize, recite and contemplate the Quran.<\/h4>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-16005\" style=\"display: block;
