The establishment of the council was announced at a meeting of officials of Iraq\u2019s Dar-ol-Quran centers held at the holy shrine of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, in Najaf, the website of the holy shrine reported.<\/p>\n
According to Hassan al-Mansouri, director of Imam Hussein holy shrine Dar-ol-Quran center, the move is aimed at enhancing the level of Quranic activities in Iraq and promoting coordination among Quranic centers in the country.<\/p>\n
Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.<\/p>\n
