At least 47 people, including civilians and Afghan security forces personnel have been killed in an ISIS attack targeting a residential area in eastern Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
The attack took place on Friday afternoon in the district of Kot in Nangarhar province, the stronghold of ISIS in Afghanistan that has been a target for the Afghan security forces.<\/p>\n
Attaullah Khogyani, the provincial governor’s spokesman, said the insurgents also burned 23 homes and kidnapped some 30 civilians during the attack, although many of the civilians were later released.<\/p>\n
Khogyani said the casualties included three children, adding that the attack also wounded another 12 civilians and members of the security forces.<\/p>\n
