Yemen’s Al-Furqan Centre Restores Over 10,000 Copies of Holy Quran in Hadramout

———————————————

Al-Furqan Centre for the Care of the Holy Quran has restored and rebound more than 10,000 copies of the Quran and returned them to mosques in the district of Tarim, in Yemen’s Hadramout Governorate, as part of a charitable initiative to preserve damaged copies and ensure their continued use by worshippers.

The Tarim Office of Endowments and Guidance praised the centre’s efforts, commending the quality of its restoration and rebinding work. The initiative has helped return copies damaged by repeated use and the passage of time to good condition.

Hassan Babattat, director of the district’s Office of Endowments, said the centre had carried out the work to a high standard. He noted that the quality of the restoration had led some mosque imams to believe the returned copies were new, reflecting the care taken throughout the repair and rebinding process.

Babattat expressed his appreciation to the centre’s management and staff, calling for the continuation of such charitable initiatives to preserve copies of the Holy Quran and make them available to worshippers in mosques.

Al-Furqan Centre provides its services free of charge. It receives copies of the Quran with torn pages or damaged covers, carries out specialised restoration and rebinding, and returns the repaired copies to mosques for further use.

Located in the Al-Ghurfa area west of Seiyun, in Hadramout Governorate, the centre began its charitable activities in 1444 AH under the supervision of Omar Mustafa bin Sumait, with the support of a specialised team dedicated to restoring and preserving copies of the Holy Quran.
