\nMalaysia has announced financial assistance of up to 5,000 Malaysian ringgit (RM) for microenterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking halal certification for the first time.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced the matching-grant scheme on Friday, October 9, 2026, while presenting the 2027 federal budget to the House of Representatives in Kuala Lumpur, according to Malaysia\u2019s national news agency, Bernama.<\/p>\n
The government also plans to allocate RM25,000 to support SMEs operating in the halal industry, particularly businesses in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical sectors.<\/p>\n
The initiative aims to reduce financial barriers to halal certification and enable more small businesses to participate in Malaysia\u2019s expanding halal economy.
