Indonesia Hosts International Conference of Muslim Leaders from 39 Countries

\nReligious leaders, imams and representatives of Islamic institutions from 39 countries are gathering in Jakarta, Indonesia, for an international conference focused on the role of mosques and religious diplomacy in promoting peace.<\/p>\n
According to Muslims Around the World, the conference was held from September 25 to 28, 2026, under the theme \u201cHarmony in the Mosque, Religious Diplomacy and World Peace.\u201d Discussions are addressing the role of mosques and religious leaders in promoting mutual understanding, preventing conflicts and supporting peace.<\/p>\n
The Bulgarian delegation\u2019s visit includes preparations for a memorandum of understanding between Bulgaria\u2019s Grand Mufti and Indonesia\u2019s Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH). The agreement is intended to establish institutional cooperation on halal certification, facilitate the exchange of expertise and examine possibilities for mutual recognition of certifications.<\/p>\n
During the visit, the Bulgarian delegation also met Bulgaria\u2019s Ambassador to Indonesia, Tania Stoyanova, to discuss the conference and the delegation\u2019s participation in its activities.
