In the letter, the organization stated that Shia citizens in Arab countries are an integral part of their societies and should not have their religious identity associated with any foreign state.<\/p>\n
The group called for supporting equal citizenship, combating discrimination, protecting freedom of worship and religious institutions, releasing individuals detained for peacefully exercising their religious rights, and rejecting sectarian incitement.<\/p>\n
