The Al-Abbas Holy Shrine announced the start of the first phase of the project, which is being implemented within the Al-Awali agricultural farm, covering an area of approximately 50,000 dunams.<\/p>\n
According to a statement by the shrine, the trees designated for the project have been cultivated and prepared in its own nurseries to support the large-scale afforestation plan.<\/p>\n
The green belt project aims to increase vegetation coverage around Karbala and contribute to reducing the effects of dust storms, sand encroachment, and desertification. It is also expected to improve air quality, moderate temperatures, and support environmental diversity in the surrounding areas.<\/p>\n
