Amnesty International Launches First Virtual Museum Chronicling 65 Years of Human Rights Campaigning

\nAmnesty International has launched Stories That Resist, its first virtual museum, offering a free immersive 360-degree experience documenting 65 years of global campaigning, research, and collective action in defense of human rights.<\/p>\n
The museum features five thematic galleries containing more than 50 historical items from Amnesty International\u2019s archives, including photographs, videos, campaign materials, awards, personal testimonies, and objects linked to major human rights campaigns.<\/p>\n
Among the highlights is the organization\u2019s receipt of the 1977 Nobel Peace Prize for its contribution to the defense of human rights. The virtual museum also showcases recipients of Amnesty International\u2019s Ambassador of Conscience Award, including Nelson Mandela, Malala Yousafzai, Ai Weiwei, Alicia Keys, Greta Thunberg, and the Fridays for Future movement.<\/p>\n
Developed in the Americas, the initiative seeks to introduce Amnesty International\u2019s history and work to new audiences while encouraging younger generations to become involved in human rights advocacy. The organization says the museum goes beyond preserving historical records, serving as a space for education, remembrance, and participation.<\/p>\n
Amnesty International Regional Director for the Americas Ana Piquer said the museum honors people who refused to remain indifferent to injustice and demonstrates how individual and collective action can contribute to meaningful change.<\/p>\n
