\u201cPaigham-e-Pakistan\u201d also addressed extremist takfiri ideology and sectarian divisions, calling for the rejection of incitement and hatred and for religious, intellectual, and political differences not to be turned into justifications for armed confrontation. Instead, it called for recourse to the constitution, the law, and dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The document also emphasized the principles of peaceful coexistence, tolerance, justice, and mutual respect, alongside protecting the rights of non-Muslim citizens and ensuring their freedom to practice their religious rituals in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fatwa\u2019s message has returned to the forefront amid the continued use of religious rhetoric by armed groups to justify attacks inside Pakistan. In recent years, several senior Pakistani scholars have reiterated that taking up arms against the state and killing civilians constitute rebellion and have no connection to the concept of jihad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
