Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi stated that Tawalli and Tabarri represent two fundamental principles of true Islam, referring to the hostility and persecution that followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) have faced throughout history because of their adherence to these two principles.
His Eminence said: \u201cTrue Islam is linked to Tawalli and Tabarri,\u201d explaining that the Umayyads and the Abbasids regarded the principle of Tabarri as conflicting with their interests and therefore sought to prevent it, fight against it, and restrict those who adhered to it.
Grand Ayatollah Shirazi pointed out that followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) faced various forms of hostility and persecution throughout different historical periods as a result of their adherence to the principle of Tabarri, alongside their loyalty to the Holy Prophet and his Pure Household (peace be upon them).
In this context, His Eminence cited the Qur\u2019anic verse: \ufd3fand the accursed tree mentioned in the Qur\u2019an\ufd3e, referring to the interpretation of the \u201caccursed tree\u201d as the Umayyads.
Grand Ayatollah Shirazi\u2019s remarks come as part of his continued emphasis on the importance of strengthening and spreading the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), promoting awareness of the concepts of Tawalli and Tabarri and their place within the Islamic doctrinal framework, and passing this knowledge on to different generations and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
