Imam Hussein Pilgrims City Expands Electronic Surveillance System with 168 Modern Cameras During Arbaeen Season

\nThe Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) Pilgrims City has announced the expansion and modernization of its electronic surveillance system as part of preparations for the Arbaeen pilgrimage, introducing high-resolution cameras and increasing security and service monitoring coverage along the Karbala\u2013Babil route.<\/p>\n

Karrar Mohammed Hamza, head of the Electronic Surveillance Unit, said the city has installed additional cameras across various streets and sections while upgrading the existing system through continuous maintenance and the addition of advanced recording devices capable of operating efficiently around the clock under different conditions.<\/p>\n
He explained that the number of operational surveillance cameras in the city has reached 168 cameras this year. The development plan also included establishing new monitoring points to track security and service-related situations, identify violations or shortcomings, and address them quickly, in addition to protecting pilgrims\u2019 belongings and maintaining direct communication with field units during emergencies.<\/p>\n
Hamza noted that the cameras have been distributed at the city\u2019s entrances and exits, as well as inside buildings and facilities, allowing continuous monitoring of public movement and rapid response to any situations requiring intervention in coordination with the Security Preservation Division and relevant authorities.<\/p>\n
He added that the Electronic Surveillance Unit operates 24 hours a day through specialized and trained personnel with extensive experience in the field, while maintaining ongoing cooperation with the Electronic Surveillance Division of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine.<\/p>\n
The security and service efforts are being carried out in coordination with the Abbas Holy Shrine and Iraqi government security agencies to enhance safety measures and monitor emergencies during the Arbaeen pilgrimage season, which witnesses the arrival of millions of visitors to the holy city of Karbala.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
