According to Edinburgh News, the rally was coordinated by the anti-racism group \u201cTake Back Our Streets\u201d and brought together residents, civil society groups, politicians, and trade unions.<\/p>\n
The protest followed a series of incidents on June 19 in Sighthill, Telford Road, and Leith Walk, where five people were injured, including young worshippers from Broomhouse Mosque.<\/p>\n
Demonstrators on Leith Walk observed a minute of silence at the site of one of the attacks. The march also received support from several unions and public figures.<\/p>\n
Felix, an activist with Stand Up to Racism Edinburgh, said the protest showed a collective response to racist violence in Leith and Edinburgh. He said the message was clear: attacks on one community would be met with united resistance from thousands of people.<\/p>\n
