<\/figure>\n\n\n\nHundreds of registered processions and mourning groups began the ritual from their Husseiniyas and moved toward the holy shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him. The processions passed through the Husseini camp, the holy courtyard of Imam Hussein\u2019s shrine, and the area between the two holy shrines before reaching the shrine of AbalFazl al-Abbas, peace be upon him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Similar ceremonies were also held at other holy shrines in Iraq, including Najaf, Kadhimiya, and Samarra, with the participation of Shia mourners, scholars, and seminary students. Shia communities in other Islamic and non-Islamic countries also held Tatbir ceremonies, despite restrictions or opposition in some places. The Ashura morning ceremonies in Karbala were broadcast live by the Imam Hussein Media Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Later on Ashura day, Karbala hosted the Tuwairij Run, one of the world\u2019s largest Husseini mourning rituals. The procession traditionally begins from the Qantara al-Salam area, about two kilometers east of Karbala, coming from the direction of Tuwairij, also known as Al-Hindiyah, around 10 kilometers southeast of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hundreds of thousands of mourners joined the procession, chanting \u201cLabbayk Ya Hussein\u201d and \u201cYa Letharat al-Hussein\u201d in response to Imam Hussein\u2019s call for support: \u201cIs there anyone to help us?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The procession entered Karbala, passed through the Husseini camp and the holy shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and continued toward the shrine of Abal-Fazl Abbas, peace be upon him.
