Erdogan: Tragedy of Karbala Lives in Our Conscience, and Its Pain and Sorrow Remain in Our Hearts

\nTurkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the tragedy of Karbala continues to live in the conscience of the nation and that love for Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, remains firmly rooted in people\u2019s hearts.<\/p>\n
Speaking during the \u201cMuharram Lokma Iftar\u201d banquet at the presidential palace in Ankara, Erdogan said, \u201cThe tragedy of Karbala lives in our conscience, and the light of love for Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, is firmly established in our hearts.\u201d He called for strengthening unity and solidarity among members of the Islamic nation, stressing that the Turkish state does not discriminate among its citizens on the basis of sectarian, intellectual, or religious affiliation.<\/p>\n
Erdogan reaffirmed his government\u2019s commitment to equality, saying, \u201cWe have not created any distinction between people because of their belief, sect, path, or outlook on life. Rather, we have dealt with everyone in a spirit of brotherhood, mercy, and fairness.\u201d<\/p>\n
Recalling the painful events of Karbala, the Turkish president paid tribute to Imam Hussein ibn Ali, peace be upon him, his family, and his companions. He said, \u201cThe tragedy of Karbala lives in our conscience, and its pain and deep sorrow stir in our hearts as if it happened yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the end of his remarks, Erdogan urged people to uphold brotherhood and hold firmly to shared values, citing the Quranic verse: \u201cAnd hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided.\u201d He described this principle as a strong shield against all attempts to create division and discord.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
