\nCoinciding with the arrival of Tasu\u2019a, mourning ceremonies for the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and his loyal companions were held with broad participation from Shia Muslims in the Halkal\u0131 district of Istanbul.<\/p>\n
During the ceremony, mourners recited elegies and lamentations in memory of the martyrs of Karbala, shedding tears in grief and devotion.<\/p>\n
Alongside these mourning gatherings, Istanbul\u2019s Zeynebiye Mosque has also become a center for dialogue and intellectual and cultural sessions during the first ten days of Muharram.<\/p>\n
These educational gatherings, attended by scholars, religious figures, media personalities, and academics, examine the humanitarian, justice-seeking, and reformist dimensions of the Ashura uprising.<\/p>\n
Participants, including large numbers of young people and families from Turkey\u2019s Shia community, emphasized that commemorating Ashura is more than a historical remembrance. They described it as a constructive platform for strengthening moral values, promoting dialogue, encouraging peaceful coexistence, and deepening social responsibility.<\/p>\n
