Singapore Outlines Joint Roadmap to Develop Islamic Education

\nSingapore has hosted a specialized seminar to discuss a new action plan for the Joint Madrasah System, as part of efforts to strengthen Islamic education and improve its institutional performance.<\/p>\n
The seminar brought together Kadir Maideen, chief executive of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, Mufti Dr. Nazirudin Mohd Nasir, deputy chief executive Azree Rahim, and several leaders of Islamic schools. The meeting aimed to develop a unified educational vision that strengthens cooperation among Islamic institutions in the country.<\/p>\n
In his keynote address, the Mufti of Singapore stressed the importance of preparing a generation equipped with critical thinking skills and the ability to respond to rapid global changes, including technological development and artificial intelligence. He emphasized the need for an education system that combines Islamic sciences with modern knowledge and produces students capable of leadership while remaining grounded in strong values.<\/p>\n
He also highlighted the planned Singapore College of Islamic Studies, describing it as a strategic step toward preparing qualified scholarly and intellectual leaders for the future.<\/p>\n
The seminar included dialogue and evaluation sessions, including a \u201chuman library\u201d session, a review of the current state of Islamic schools, and the preparation of three-year strategic plans for each educational institution.<\/p>\n
