UN Secretary-General Pays Tribute to 136 Aid Workers Killed in Service

\nThe Secretary-General of the United Nations has paid tribute to dozens of UN staff members who lost their lives while carrying out humanitarian missions over the past year.<\/p>\n
The aid workers and peacekeepers, who were working to ease human suffering and support stability in different parts of the world, were killed while performing their humanitarian duties in conflict-affected and high-risk areas.<\/p>\n
According to Kabul-based newspaper Hasht-e Subh, Ant\u00f3nio Guterres said that 136 UN personnel had died while serving in some of the most difficult and unstable places on earth.<\/p>\n
