FreeMuslim Urges Protecting Nature on World Environment Day as Shared Human, Moral Responsibility

\nThe International Nonviolence Organization, FreeMuslim Inc., issued a statement marking World Environment Day, observed annually on June 5, stressing the importance of strengthening environmental awareness and addressing climate and environmental challenges that threaten human life, social stability, and the future of coming generations.<\/p>\n
In a statement received by Shia Waves Agency, the organization said World Environment Day is an important occasion that calls on individuals, institutions, and governments to review their responsibilities toward the planet and confront worsening environmental crises, including pollution, desertification, depletion of natural resources, and climate change.<\/p>\n
The organization emphasized that protecting the environment is an essential part of the culture of nonviolence and human peace. It stated that harming nature, polluting water sources, destroying land, and exhausting natural resources represent unjustified forms of violence against life and against the rights of future generations to live in a safe and stable environment.<\/p>\n
In this context, the organization recalled Islamic teachings that established principles of environmental protection centuries ago.<\/p>\n
The organization called for intensified efforts to combat pollution, reduce harmful emissions, protect water sources from waste and contamination, support tree-planting initiatives, counter desertification, and rehabilitate agricultural land in order to preserve ecological balance and strengthen food security.<\/p>\n
