\nAccording to data published by Spain\u2019s Ministry of the Interior, hate crimes and hate-related incidents reached their highest level in 2025 since official statistics began being collected in 2014.<\/p>\n
According to the website Mars30, law enforcement authorities investigated a total of 2,417 hate-related offenses, marking a 23.6 percent increase compared with the previous year.<\/p>\n
Although racism and xenophobia remained the most common categories, with 934 recorded cases, Islamophobia saw the sharpest rise.<\/p>\n
Offenses targeting Muslims increased by 133 percent compared with 2024, reaching 35 cases. In the digital sphere, the increase was even more pronounced, with a 450 percent rise in reported Islamophobic content or acts online.<\/p>\n
The report also noted a significant increase in crimes motivated by discrimination against people with disabilities, up 90 percent, as well as antisemitic acts, which rose by 86.5 percent.<\/p>\n
Offenses related to gender identity ranked second, with 571 recorded cases.<\/p>\n
Spanish authorities also expressed concern over the growing involvement of minors, both as victims and as perpetrators.<\/p>\n
