Dhul Hajja 15th Marks Blissful Birth Anniversary of Imam Ali al-Hadi

\nShia Muslims mark the 15th of Dhu al-Hijjah as the birth anniversary of Imam Ali ibn Muhammad al-Hadi, peace be upon him, the tenth Imam of the creation.<\/p>\n
Imam al-Hadi, peace be upon him, was born in 212 A.H. in Surayya, near Medina. His mother, Lady Samana, was known as a pious and virtuous woman. After the martyrdom of his father, Imam Muhammad al-Jawad, peace be upon him, Imam al-Hadi assumed the responsibility of Imamate at the age of eight.<\/p>\n
His Imamate coincided with one of the most difficult periods in Shia history, under the rule of the Abbasid caliphs, especially al-Mutawakkil, who imposed severe restrictions on the Imam and his followers. The forced transfer of Imam al-Hadi, peace be upon him, to Samarra was part of a wider Abbasid policy aimed at isolating him and weakening the connection between the Shia community and the divinely appointed Imam.<\/p>\n
Despite surveillance, pressure, and political restrictions, Imam al-Hadi, peace be upon him, preserved the religious and intellectual identity of the Shia.<\/p>\n
One of the most important features of his era was the expansion of the network of representatives, known as the Wikalah system. This organized network helped maintain communication between the Imam and Shia communities across different regions. Many scholars consider this period a key preparation for the later era of Imam al-Mahdi, may Allah hasten his honourable reappearance, and the beginning of the Occultation.<\/p>\n
Imam al-Hadi, peace be upon him, also left behind a major intellectual and spiritual legacy. Among his most important contributions are Ziyarat al-Jami\u2019a al-Kabira and Ziyarat al-Ghadiriyyah, two foundational texts in Shia Imamology. These works explain the status of Imamate, the role of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, in guiding humanity, and the spiritual and theological foundations of the Shia school.<\/p>\n
Imam al-Hadi, peace be upon him, was martyred in 254 A.H. in Samarra, where his holy body was buried. His shrine remains one of the important pilgrimage sites of the Islamic world, and his legacy continues to inspire believers seeking guidance, patience, and resistance in difficult times.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
