Turkey Captures 10 Suspected Islamic State Militants in Syria

\nTurkey\u2019s National Intelligence Organization, MIT, has captured 10 suspected Islamic State militants in Syria and brought them back to Turkey, according to security sources cited by Anadolu news agency and reported by Reuters.<\/p>\n
The operation was carried out in coordination with Syrian intelligence, the sources said. All of the suspects are reportedly of Turkish origin and are accused of links to previous attacks in Turkey.<\/p>\n
According to Anadolu, one of the detainees had connections to those responsible for the 2015 bombing at Ankara\u2019s main train station, an attack that killed more than 100 people and remains one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in modern Turkish history.<\/p>\n
Security sources also said another suspect had served as the Islamic State group\u2019s intelligence chief responsible for Turkey.<\/p>\n
The detainees are accused of participating in armed training, propaganda activities, and planning or supporting attacks. Turkish authorities have not yet released further details about the suspects\u2019 identities or where in Syria the operation took place.<\/p>\n
