\nThe World Health Organization (WHO) has classified all individuals aboard a cruise ship affected by a hantavirus outbreak as “high-risk” contacts. The recommendation includes active monitoring for 42 days after disembarking. As of May 8, eight symptomatic cases have been reported, including three deaths, with six confirmed as infections of the Andes virus.<\/p>\n
According to Xinhua, the MV Hondius, where the outbreak occurred, is expected to dock in the Canary Islands on Sunday. Despite the outbreak, WHO assures the public risk remains low.<\/p>\n
