\nThe 31st edition of the International Book and Publishing Fair kicked off in Morocco\u2019s capital, Rabat, with an impressive turnout of 891 exhibitors representing 61 countries. This annual cultural event, one of the largest of its kind in the country, brings together publishers, cultural institutions, and literary figures from around the globe.<\/p>\n
On the first day of the fair, there was a noticeable surge in visitor turnout, with attendees flocking to the various publishing booths. The range of available books spanned across genres including literature, philosophy, history, and science, alongside a wide selection of cultural events aimed at engaging audiences of all ages.<\/p>\n
A special focus this year was on books addressing the Palestinian issue. Publishers from Morocco and beyond presented newly released works and reprints shedding light on the Palestinian history, political situation, and social realities. Notably, several books aimed at children were also on display, aiming to educate the younger generations about the Palestinian cause.<\/p>\n
Representatives of the Palestinian publishing sector noted that such events offer crucial opportunities to highlight Palestinian culture and increase its international presence despite the numerous challenges facing the publishing industry in the occupied Palestinian territories.<\/p>\n
The fair will run until May 10, featuring a diverse cultural program that includes 240 panels, discussions, and workshops, with participation from authors, thinkers, and poets both from Morocco and abroad. Additionally, there will be educational and recreational activities tailored for children.<\/p>\n
