Sayyid Farhan Hassan al-Mansour, Imam and preacher at the revered shrine of Sayyida Zaynab (peace be upon her), was martyred on Friday, May 1, after his vehicle was struck by a grenade in the Fatimiyah area near Damascus. The attack reportedly occurred shortly after he left the shrine.<\/p>\n
According to initial reports cited by local media including Syrian Arab News Agency and regional outlets, the explosion took place near a main street close to religious sites and hotels frequented by visitors. At least one other civilian was reported injured.<\/p>\n
