\nHuman rights organisation Amnesty International has called for the United States airstrike that hit a migrant detention centre in Yemen last year to be investigated as a potential war crime, highlighting serious concerns about civilian harm and accountability.<\/p>\n
In a report released on 28 April 2026, Amnesty reiterated its demand for an independent investigation into the 28 April 2025 strike on a detention facility in Saada, north\u2011western Yemen, which killed at least 68 detainees and injured 47 others, including African migrants. The facility had long served as a civilian detention site and had previously been visited by International Committee of the Red Cross and United Nations representatives, who found no evidence of military use.<\/p>\n
The rights group is urging US authorities to open a transparent investigation, hold accountable those responsible, and ensure full compensation for victims and families.
