Scholars Discuss State of Islamic Economics at International Conference in Brussels

\nThe Belgian capital, Brussels, hosted the 7th International Conference of the European Academy for Islamic Finance and Economics (EAIFE), held under the theme \u201cIslamic Economics in Europe: Opportunities and Challenges.\u201d The event brought together a distinguished group of scholars and researchers specializing in Islamic economics and finance.<\/p>\n
The conference was attended by representatives from various universities and academic institutions, along with more than 70 scholars and researchers from 24 countries. Around 55 academic papers were presented, addressing a wide range of topics related to the development of Islamic economics and its prospects within the European context.<\/p>\n
Conference sessions explored several key themes, including historical economic experiences in Europe during periods of flourishing Islamic civilization. Participants also examined the economic challenges facing the European continent and discussed the potential role of Islamic economic models in addressing these issues.<\/p>\n
Discussions further focused on the current state of Islamic economics in Europe, the challenges hindering its expansion, and the opportunities available to strengthen its presence in European financial markets. Additional topics included the role of Muslim communities in Western societies and the balance between adhering to religious principles and meeting economic and social development needs.<\/p>\n
