Representatives from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) spoke at the event, noting that the designation comes at a time when American Muslim communities have faced heightened Islamophobia and discrimination. Social media posts from local CAIR chapters also celebrated the recognition, underscoring broader community efforts to honor Muslim Americans\u2019 contributions during the month of April.<\/p>\n
