Skoltech Researchers Develop Carbon Nanotube Coating to Boost 6G Technology

\nResearchers at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech), in collaboration with KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, have developed an ultrathin carbon nanotube coating capable of precisely controlling terahertz radiation, a spectrum critical for future 6G communications. The findings were published in Nature Communications.<\/p>\n
The nanotube films, ranging from 2 to 53 nanometers in thickness, absorb terahertz waves, preventing interference and improving signal transmission within silicon waveguides. The coating can act like a barrier, keeping signals confined and blocking unwanted radiation. The thickest films demonstrated near-total absorption of terahertz waves.<\/p>\n
