UNICEF Warns Middle East Conflict Has Killed or Injured Over 1,100 Children

\nThe United Nations Children’s Fund has warned that the escalating conflict across the Middle East has caused a humanitarian crisis for children, with more than 1,100 children reported killed or injured since late February.<\/p>\n
In a statement released on 11 March 2026, UNICEF said the intensifying violence across several countries has had a devastating impact on children and families, while millions of minors across the region are facing increasingly dangerous living conditions.<\/p>\n
According to the agency, the reported child fatalities include 200 children in Iran, 91 in Lebanon, four in Israel and one in Kuwait, though the organization warned that the numbers are likely to rise as the conflict continues.<\/p>\n
UNICEF said the ongoing hostilities have disrupted essential services such as education, healthcare, and water systems. Schools and hospitals in several areas have been damaged or destroyed, leaving hundreds of thousands of children displaced and millions unable to attend school.<\/p>\n
The agency stressed that \u201cnothing justifies the killing and maiming of children or the destruction of the services they depend on.\u201d It urged all parties involved in the conflict to protect civilians and critical infrastructure.<\/p>\n
