Speaking on Coventry Street, Khan described the display\u2014now in its fourth year\u2014as a \u201cbeacon of togetherness,\u201d sending a message to Muslim communities that they are valued while celebrating the holy month with all Londoners. Over 30,000 LED lights inspired by Islamic geometric patterns now adorn Leicester Square and surrounding streets, displaying \u201cHappy Ramadan\u201d until March 18, when the message changes to \u201cHappy Eid.\u201d The initiative is organized and funded by the Aziz Foundation.<\/p>\n
Khan called for solidarity amid rising political tensions and Islamophobia, urging Muslims, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Sikhs, and non-religious residents alike to come together during Ramadan. He encouraged worshippers to remember those suffering in Sudan, Gaza, and Ukraine, while condemning efforts that \u201csow division, hatred, and fear.\u201d<\/p>\n
