WHO: Over 30 killed in three Sudan health center attacks

\nSudan\u2019s South Kordofan region has witnessed attacks on three health facilities in the past week alone, leaving more than 30 dead, Arab News reported citing the World Health Organization.<\/p>\n
The Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces have been at war since April 2023, with the conflict killing tens of thousands of people, displacing millions more and triggering one of the world\u2019s worst humanitarian crises.<\/p>\n
In the central Sudanese region of Kordofan, where fighting is now concentrated, Tedros said the health system had faced numerous attacks.<\/p>\n
On February 3, an attack on a primary health center killed eight people \u2014 five children and three women \u2014 and injured 11, the source mentioned, adding that a day later, a hospital was attacked killing one person.\u201d<\/p>\n
It notes that on February 5, another attack on a hospital killed 22 people \u2014 including 4 health workers \u2014 and injured 8.\u201d<\/p>\n
The United Nations reports that at least 40,000 to 50,000 people have been killed since the war began in April 2023.
