The United Nations has warned that food assistance in Sudan may be exhausted by the end of March unless new funding is urgently secured, placing millions at risk amid what it describes as the world\u2019s most severe hunger crisis. The alert comes as humanitarian conditions continue to deteriorate across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sudan has been engulfed in civil war for nearly three years, with fighting between the national army and the Rapid Support Forces causing widespread destruction. The conflict has killed tens of thousands of people and forced around 11 million to flee their homes, severely disrupting food production and supply chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The World Food Programme said it has already depleted most of its reserves and reduced food rations to the bare minimum needed for survival. Officials warned that without immediate financial support, large numbers of vulnerable people could lose access to life-saving assistance within weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the UN, more than 21 million people in Sudan are facing acute food insecurity.
