Iraq has put in place wide-ranging security and service measures in Baghdad, Kadhimiya, and Samarra ahead of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (peace be upon him), as millions of pilgrims prepare to take part in the Rajab pilgrimage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the approach of the 25th of Rajab, Iraqi security forces have significantly increased their presence in the city of Kadhimiya and along all routes leading to it, aiming to ensure a safe, calm, and orderly environment for pilgrims. Main and secondary roads have been placed under full security coverage to facilitate the smooth conduct of mourning ceremonies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Middle East News, citing the Baghdad Operations Command, reported that a preventive security plan has been developed, including inspections around Baghdad and outlying areas to eliminate any potential threats. Security forces, in coordination with all intelligence agencies, have been deployed along pilgrimage routes to ensure the safe arrival and return of visitors. Officials said the organized presence has helped reduce signs of armed activity and boosted public confidence in the security situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, large numbers of pilgrims continue to walk toward Kadhimiya from various axes, including the Kut\u2013Baghdad route, which has been fully secured. This mass participation reflects the special significance of the occasion among devotees of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and highlights social solidarity in Iraq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Samarra, the Iraqi News Agency reported that police command has implemented a comprehensive security plan to protect routes linking Baghdad to Samarra, as well as those connected to Salah al-Din and Diyala provinces. The plan, carried out in coordination with the Holy Shrine of the Imams al-Askariyyain (peace be upon them), includes the deployment of forces, allocation of large parking areas, and provision of logistical and human support to ease pilgrim movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Shia Waves News Agency, pilgrims from various Iraqi provinces, as well as from Arab countries and other regions, have arrived in Kadhimiya, with their routes fully supported by security, service, and health teams. The agency also reported that the ceremonial replacement of the shrine\u2019s dome flags with black ones, marking the beginning of the mourning period, was held with a large public turnout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the transport sector, Iraq\u2019s Ministry of Transport announced the operation of 11 special trains from Baghdad, Basra, Diwaniyah, and other cities to reduce traffic congestion and facilitate pilgrim travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
