Speaking on Thursday, Khan condemned Trump\u2019s recent remarks in which the US president described him as \u201chorrible, vicious, [and] disgusting.\u201d Khan said the comments were part of a sustained pattern of personal and political attacks that extended beyond him to Britain as a whole. He added that Trump has repeatedly used inflammatory language, including claims that Khan\u2019s electoral victories were driven by immigration, which Khan said undermines the UK\u2019s democratic values and social cohesion.<\/p>\n
The London mayor said he would not be intimidated by such rhetoric, arguing that standing up to a bully is the most effective response. He stressed that remaining silent was not an option when London, its people, and its values were being targeted, particularly through what he described as sweeping generalizations about followers of one faith.<\/p>\n
Khan also referred to Trump\u2019s shifting focus toward other Muslim political leaders, suggesting the US president could now direct similar attacks at New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
