Deadly Bus Crash in Western Guatemala Kills 15

At least 15 people were killed and 19 others injured when a passenger bus plunged into a ravine along the Inter-American Highway in western Guatemala, according to local authorities, Al Jazeera.<\/p>\n
Firefighters said the victims included 11 men, three women and a minor. The injured were transferred to nearby hospitals for treatment as emergency crews carried out rescue operations at the crash site.<\/p>\n
The accident occurred in the Solol\u00e1 area between kilometres 172 and 174, a mountainous stretch known as \u201cAlaska Peak,\u201d where dense fog frequently reduces visibility for drivers using the route.<\/p>\n
The bus was traveling from Guatemala City to the western department of San Marcos when it fell nearly 75 metres into the ravine. Authorities have not yet determined the cause.
