More than 600 Israeli settlers entered the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem on Wednesday, coinciding with the fourth day of the Jewish Hanukkah holiday, according to Arab News.<\/p>\n
The Palestinian Authority-affiliated Jerusalem Governorate said Israeli forces accompanied the settlers and imposed strict restrictions on Palestinian access to the holy site. It reported that 689 settlers entered the compound in groups, carried out what were described as provocative tours of the courtyards, and performed Talmudic rituals. The information was cited by the Wafa news agency.<\/p>\n
Separately, in the northern occupied West Bank, Israeli forces shot and wounded four Palestinians during a raid in the city of Nablus. The Palestinian Red Crescent said the injuries included a gunshot wound to the chest, a knee injury, shrapnel wounds, and fragments lodged in the head.<\/p>\n
Israeli forces reportedly raided several areas of Nablus, including the Aqaba neighborhood in the old city, as well as the Ras Al-Ain, Khan Al-Tikar, and Al-Shuhada areas.
