According to Radio Farda, the proposal bans religious symbols for staff in public daycares and schools, prohibits group prayers without municipal authorization, restricts face coverings in schools, and outlaws the provision of exclusively halal or kosher meals in public institutions.<\/p>\n
Canadian Muslim author Sheema Khan, writing in an analysis published by Radio Farda, warns that the Quebec government\u2019s reliance on the \u201cnotwithstanding clause\u201d of the Canadian Charter effectively places the state as the arbiter of religious expression, accelerating a trend toward rigid, compulsory secularism.<\/p>\n
