\nA collection of rare Islamic artefacts has gone on display at the North Lincolnshire Museum, offering visitors a chance to view items that were previously only accessible to pilgrims visiting Mecca.<\/p>\n
According to BBC, highlights include a key to the resting place of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his pure family) and a rare Kiswa cloth, which traditionally covers the Kaaba at the centre of the Great Mosque in Mecca. Many items date back centuries and feature intricate craftsmanship, including embroidery in 22-carat gold thread.<\/p>\n
Abid Khan of the North Lincolnshire Multi-Faith Partnership said the exhibition allows people to appreciate the artistry and provides a tangible connection to the pilgrimage experience for those who have visited Mecca.<\/p>\n
The event is organised by the Kiswa Arts and Culture Gallery in collaboration with the Multi-Faith Partnership, with support from North Lincolnshire Council and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
