Four displaced children have died from severe cold in Afghanistan\u2019s Kunar province, UNICEF said on Wednesday, Khaama Press reported. The agency confirmed that the children were living in the Zari Baba displacement camp in Nurgal district, where families affected by recent earthquakes are struggling to cope with freezing temperatures.<\/p>\n
UNICEF\u2019s representative in Afghanistan, Tajudeen Oyewale, said the children died from cold-related illnesses that could have been prevented with proper shelter, medical support, and winter supplies. He called for urgent action from humanitarian organizations and international donors to accelerate the delivery of winter assistance before more lives are lost.<\/p>\n
The agency stressed that essential aid\u2014including blankets, warm clothing, heating materials, and medical care\u2014is urgently needed to protect vulnerable families.
