Australian Mosques Join Nationwide Campaign to Increase Blood Donations

\nAustralian mosques and Islamic centres participated in a nationwide blood donation campaign on 28 November, supporting the Australian Islamic Medical Association\u2019s (AIMA) annual drive in partnership with the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood.<\/p>\n
According to IQNA, over 40 mosques across all states and territories took part, including communities in Bathurst, the Central Coast, Townsville, Cairns, Mackay, and Launceston. Lifeblood staff collaborated with AIMA volunteers at several locations to guide first-time donors and answer questions, according to the Australian Muslim Times.<\/p>\n
Despite varying weather conditions across the country, organisers reported strong attendance, with many worshippers eager to learn about the donation process. At select sites, female Lifeblood representatives wore custom hijabs in Lifeblood colours as a mark of respect.<\/p>\n
AIMA National President Omer Shareef praised volunteers and donors nationwide, describing the campaign as \u201ca powerful reflection of unity in action and faith in motion.\u201d<\/p>\n
Since its inception in 2019 with a single mosque, the initiative has grown into a national effort to boost blood donation rates across Australia\u2019s diverse communities.
