According to the AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA), the condemnation was issued during a broad conference attended by Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, and Mayor Abdullah Hammoud.<\/p>\n
Officials noted that the anti-Islam protesters came from outside Michigan and stressed that their views do not reflect Dearborn\u2019s multicultural and safe environment. In recent months, online attacks have falsely depicted Dearborn as an \u201cIslamic colony,\u201d and a Republican candidate briefly launched a campaign against \u201cSharia implementation\u201d before apologizing following community engagement.<\/p>\n
Despite this, anti-Islam activists, led by an extremist figure from Florida, organized a gathering titled \u201cAmericans Against Islamization,\u201d during which an attempted Quran burning prompted a brief confrontation with residents and required police intervention.<\/p>\n
