\nA group of Muslim digital experts has launched a comprehensive \u201cHalal Internet\u201d ecosystem aimed at providing safer online spaces for Muslim families amid growing concerns about harmful digital content, IQNA reported.<\/p>\n
The initiative, called Kahf, was founded by professionals with backgrounds at Meta, Tesco and British Telecom, who say the internet has become a \u201cmoral battleground\u201d for young users.<\/p>\n
Kahf\u2019s founders cite alarming exposure levels to online harm, including pornography, gambling and anti-Islamic content. Co-founder Omar Al Zabir, formerly part of Meta\u2019s \u201csevere harm\u201d team, said he witnessed widespread online exploitation and harassment, reinforcing the need for a protective digital structure.<\/p>\n
The Kahf ecosystem includes a DNS filter blocking millions of harmful websites, a \u201chalal browser\u201d with AI tools that automatically blur inappropriate images, a children\u2019s platform with verified educational videos, and an ethical media and social network free from prohibited advertising. A Sharia-compliant digital wallet is also planned.<\/p>\n
