Prosecutors at the International Criminal Court are collecting evidence of alleged mass killings, sexual violence, and other crimes in El Fasher. Guterres described the situation as \u201chorrifying,\u201d highlighting hunger, disease, and displacement affecting hundreds of thousands of civilians trapped by the ongoing siege.<\/p>\n
El Fasher\u2019s fall gives the RSF control of all five Darfur state capitals, raising fears of potential regional partition. The Sudanese ambassador to the UK, Babikir Elamin, emphasized that halting massacres in El Fasher is a priority over a ceasefire and called for the RSF to be designated a terrorist organization.<\/p>\n
The US is promoting a peace plan, agreed with Egypt, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, proposing a three-month humanitarian pause followed by a ceasefire and a nine-month transition to civilian rule.
